Summer 2011 Fishing Schedule

Welcome to the Cape Ommaney Lodge summer schedule. Trips will be conducted on weekdays, each week of the summer. Float plane travel from Sitka to Cape Ommaney Lodge will be on Sunday afternoons. Float Plane travel from Cape Ommaney Lodge back to Sitka will be on Saturday mornings. This will allow you to travel on the weekends and will give you time to relax and enjoy a full week. Cape Ommaney Lodge specializes in small groups, 4-8 people, and operates in the Tongass National Forest under a priority special use permit issued by the USFS.

All trips will be conducted from the MV Gunsmoke; a custom built Sea Wolf boat 34' in length. Comfortable and warm inside the cabin, with a head, Gunsmoke also provides a large deck for activities such as fishing, crabbing, shrimping, and viewing our marine and wildlife.

We have a variety of other activities to fill your days as well. Touring the Waterfall Coast on famous Baranof Island, walking with the bears as they feed on the spawning salmon, beach combing, and hunting Sitka Blacktail Deer.

Fishing at the Cape is spectacular with NO crowds. Bottom fishing for Halibut and several species of Rock Fish is on most all of the summer. Ling Cod is open early summer until June 15 and reopens after August 15. King Salmon run June through July and the Coho's or Silver Salmon begin to show late June and increase in numbers all the way until September.

Cost per person $2900.00, 4 person minimum. A 10% discount will be given to all return clients. Observers and children under 12 years of age, $1000.00 per person. Float plane flights to and from Cape Ommaney Lodge, fishing licenses, and any alcoholic beverages will be the clients responsibility. We provide custom fish processing for your catch. A limit of 2 boxes or 100 pounds of finished product per fisherman. A 50% deposit is required to hold your week and we ask that the balance be paid one month prior to your arrival unless other arrangements are agreed upon.
